FLOWER POWER
The Cornish mizzle might be hanging heavily over west Cornwall as I sit to write this editor’s letter but, in this issue of Wed, our gaze is set firmly on the spring and summer months ahead – to al fresco ceremonies filled with the heady scent of blooms, to celebratory drinks on sandy beaches and flower-filled gardens, and long, hazy evenings filled with friends, family and love in beautiful abundance.
Verity Westcott
In celebration of the warmer months, a floral theme is woven throughout these pages. Our bridal fashion story, Dream Weaver, sets the mood with incredible dresses embroidered with blooms, blousy sleeves and coolly ‘70s vibes in the stunning setting of Polstrong Manor. Flowers also play a key role in our styled shoots: Call of the Sea is filled with ocean-inspired florals and dreamy touches for a coastal wedding at Carbis Bay’s Boskerris Hotel, while Carnival of Colour is all about vibrant blooms, grazing platters and styling in the rustic setting Stennack Farm. Meanwhile, Sustainably Stylish is a seriously chic take on a planet-friendly intimate wedding – filled with locally grown blooms – in the luxe setting of Treseren.

By choosing seasonal flowers, you can look forward to blooms at their absolute best without the carbon footprint of imported flowers while supporting local growers to boot. In Darling Buds you’ll find a month-by-month guide to seasonal flowers as well as some gorgeous inspiration from local florists.
