There's something about the pairing of relaxed bohemian vibes with a touch of luxury; something effortlessly stylish yet decadent - and Bridwell Park's stunning interiors, atmospheric chapel and rolling grounds made a dreamy backdrop to showcase its alluring appeal. "This look blends elements of luxury, fine dining, opulent flowers and designer pieces with rustic touches and the eternally popular boho trend," explains stylist, Bridget Scott of Blue Fizz Events. "The subtle and varied colour palette works on hues rather than a limited shade, enabling you to bring eclectic items together as one theme."
A palette of plaster pink, navy and brown carries through the details. Bridget created a gorgeous tablescape, complete with striking chairs sourced from an Indian cinema and rustic trestle tables. "The chairs worked brilliantly with the palette and served as the perfect contrast to the luxe look that we created around them," she explains.
An abundance of greenery adorns the tables and chair backs, weaving plaster pink roses with trailing vines. "I dressed the table with Bridwell's own crockery, satin napkins and oversized ties in hues of duck egg and green and feathers," says Bridget. In the chapel, metal pillars and lofty floral displays enhance the mood of drama and opulence.
The cakes, blending intricate sugar flowers and a contemporary finish, make for a stunning centrepiece to the scene, while the stationery combines striking design with a bohemian mood and flourish of sparkle to stylishly reflect the aesthetic.
The bridal look beautifully echoes the mood. "Both dresses are exactly what I think of as boho with a dash of refinement," says Bridget of the gentle beadwork embellishment of one to the cotton lace and modern feel of the other. Continuing the effortless boho vibe, the dresses were paired with soft tumbling curls for the daytime look and a relaxed up do for the evening, complete with a vintage headdress, fresh, warm make-up and dramatic lashes.
Complementing the bride but echoing the individual spirit of the aesthetic, the bridesmaid wears a vintage dress, loose waves and a selection of bespoke flower crowns. Both the bride and bridesmaid finish their looks with jewellery handmade by Jacqueline Ashworth in North Devon. "I loved the simplicity and high quality of these pieces - they're perfect with any outfit but a delightful look on a bride and a great suggestion for bridesmaids' gifts," says Bridget. Completing the super-stylish wedding party, the groom wears an eclectic mix of navy velvet, mustard tweed and greys. "The slimline trousers and silk cravat give this edgy look a contemporary and very wearable feel," concludes Bridget.
