Natural light, cool settings, striking scenery. A dash of quintessential English charm, a sprinkle of soft romance, and a modern bride ready to meet her beau. An exquisite country house, set in 37 acres just outside Devon, was the perfect location for this modern shoot, which buzzes with style and elegance.

"A sleek and embellished gown was the inspiration behind this contemporary cool look, set in the grounds of Pynes House," explains Bridget Scott of Blue Fizz Events. "A sublime juxtaposition of modern and traditional." The dress, designed and created by Lily & Louie, sets the scene for a shoot that incorporates clean lines and striking details. Just like the exquisite jewels on the otherwise classic gown and the beauty of the headdress by Blue Fizz Events, it is the eye for detail that really sets this shoot apart and gives it the wow factor. Crisp whites set against dramatic backdrops; barely-there make-up offset with a strong smoky eye.

"Keeping it simple is sometimes the key," says Bridget. "No fuss, no frills, but with carefully selected standout elements, this look is overall a strong one with a timeless feel."

The tablescape adds to the identity. A minimal table setting allows the divine floral arrangements to stand out, spectacular with lashings of grey-green eucalyptus and a colour palette of creams and peaches for the blooms. The lavish cake was dressed in a tumble of handpicked lavender, perfect for the gently cool style.

"Volumes of natural foliage, candlelight, crisp white napkins and champagne can't fail to work in any setting, but alongside the features and Pynes House, it all came together to add a bit of drama to the whole look," explains Bridget.
Resplendent in its simplicity, the key here is the contrast between the classic, the contemporary, the graceful and the drama, the extraordinary, the splendour - perfect for the modern bride with a nod to timeless elegance.
