What a strange time to be creating a wedding magazine, or indeed planning a wedding! The 2020 pandemic has seen us all ask hundreds of questions of whether weddings are possible, how they can look, when they can happen, and who can attend. We've been so impressed and amazed at those who have had to postpone weddings, instead looking to the future and choosing joyful, positive and life-affirming love. We're proud of the wedding industry ' adapting to new rules and restrictions, getting creative in helping others and coming together to help you all plan your perfect wedding, in an imperfect time.
And, it has to be said, we're pretty proud of ourselves too! We've emerged from our early sense of paralysis and thrown ourselves into creating a beautiful Cornwall edition of Wed Magazine (with some homeschooling on the side!) and are delighted to share the latest issue with you.
It's a celebration of all things lovely, with shoots designed to wow and delight. Bright colours and flavours inspire a fun-filled tropical wedding in 'Lost in Paradise', while a stunning shoot of autumnal blooms and mellow hues bring an atmospheric edge to weddings in 'Whispers from the Cornish Woodland'; plus, the cover shoot, 'Art and Soul' is a celebration of soul-stirring settings, showcasing an artist's wedding in the clean-lines Art Deco location of Penzance's iconic Jubilee Pool.
And of course, we've covered 'Love in the Time of Covid-19' ' from the incredibly romantic proposal during lockdown, to a couple who've postponed their wedding, and those holding virtual ceremonies ' plus lots of wedding-planning tips for those who have to rearrange their dream day. We love this line from Lauren, after making the decision to postpone her September wedding. "The little grey cloud of worry lifted instantly, and I am so excited for our May wedding," she says.
As always, your real weddings have us swooning in 'Got Wed', with a truly Cornish spin on all your big days. From Sarah and Dale's laid-back beach party to Chloe and Ben's clifftop tipi wedding and Natalie and Pierre's castle celebrations, you are the epitome of W-day wonder.
As well as pages and pages of dresses, rings, hen ideas and styling tips, we've got how to make your marquee wedding a thing of beauty in 'Pitch Perfect', show-stealing ideas for a stunning wedding cake, and the modern world of food trucks. And our course, our extensive Venues Guide, which showcases Cornwall's finest venues in a handy format, will help you with finding and deciding upon your perfect celebration spot.
Wed is available from magazine stockists across Cornwall, including WHSmith, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Martin McColl and independent newsagents. And don't forget
you can also order a copy here, to be delivered to your door.
