Monochrome Magic

Leanne and Guy’s sunny black-tie wedding at Brickhouse Vineyard

Meeting via Tinder in 2015, there was no ‘seven-year itch’ for Leanne and Guy, as he surprised Leanne by popping the question seven years later. “Guy booked a special trip to Marbella for my 30th birthday, staying at a hilltop castle, where he proposed,” says Leanne of the special moment. “I couldn't quite believe it… We had just found out that we were pregnant with baby number two too!”

As soon as the couple set eyes on the rustic-luxe aesthetic of Brickhouse Vineyard, they knew it would be the perfect backdrop for their wedding day. Deciding on a minimal black-and-white colour scheme, Guy and his groomsmen opted for timeless black-tie, while the bridesmaids wore sleek black gowns. The contemporary monochrome styling carried throughout the tablescapes, which were dressed with crisp white linens and chic black candleholders and charger plates.

“We opted for an outdoor wedding,” says Leanne, revealing that the venue’s flowers and scenic spaces really stood out to them. Walking down the al fresco aisle in a textured lace gown that epitomised modern romance, Leanne and Guy took their vows surrounded by arrangements of white flowers and lush foliage.

Relaxed drinks in the sunshine followed, with a live singer and guitarist serenading guests on the terrace. “Having all your friends and family in one place enjoying themselves is just what we envisaged,” says Leanne, of the moment the newlyweds soaked up the happiness of having their loved ones join in their celebrations. “Having both of our children there made it extra special.”

Everyone gathered in the renovated barn for a feast comprising prosciutto-wrapped pork tenderloin with crispy sage and crème fraiche sauce, and chicken breast stuffed with sundried tomato and feta served with various sides. Desserts of boozy trifle, black forest cake bites and Devon scones with cream and jam were complemented by a Colin the Caterpillar cake table.

Leanne and Guy savoured some quiet moments walking around the grounds in the evening sun with their photographer, allowing them to soak up the magic of the day – and the picturesque vineyard setting.

The couple’s first dance had special memories for them. “One of our early dates was to Radio 1’s Big Weekend, where we saw Kygo live and sang our hearts out to Sexual Healing,” remembers Leanne. “We spent ages trying to think of a song that reminded us both of each other but always came back to this song, so it had to be.”

As dancing continued throughout the night, pizzas were served and a live band kept the party spirits high. “I don't think we have a favourite part; it was all so special,” says Leanne looking back on their once-in-a-lifetime day.

The newlyweds have some wise words for those who are planning their own weddings. “Accept any offers of help, get people involved and make it fun!” says Leanne. “And book in a date night during the planning, so you can both enjoy that time together amongst the chaos.”
