After five years together, the couple booked a holiday to California. "One week into the trip, we went to what is now our special place - Lake Tahoe - a stunning setting with snow-capped mountains, crystal clear waters and breathtaking scenery." It was in this sublime location that Mike popped the question with an exquisite vintage diamond and sapphire ring. "I always said as a young girl, if he is the right man, he'll choose the right ring. In hindsight, what I never dreamed was possible was to find a man kneeling before me that probably knew me better than I'll ever know myself," Amy comments.

The engagement ring was the inspiration for the styling of their wedding, and notes of vintage, silver, navy blue, white and cream prettified the details. Amy wore the first wedding dress she tried on for their beautifully bespoke nuptials at St. Michael and All Angels Church. Mike's uncle played the organ and his mum's choir sang, perfectly setting the scene for Amy's fondest memory of the day: "Looking into Mike's dark brown eyes and saying our vows."

After the ceremony, the couple left the church under a shower of homemade confetti and drove across the moors to The Horn of Plenty. A drinks reception was followed by a lavish five-course wedding breakfast of ham and chicken terrine, roast loin of Devon lamb and an assiette of desserts comprising chocolate mousse, banana and passion fruit parfait and passion fruit sorbet.
Their friends Sooz McMillan and Ali Humphries performed some spellbinding sets for the early evening entertainment before the party started, which saw guests dancing into the night.

Exploring their new home in London provided an adventurous staycation honeymoon. "We enjoyed spa days, West End shows, a night at the Comedy Store and eating out all week! Mike even hired us a boat and packed a picnic and we went rowing on the Thames!"
Reliving her cherished day, Amy has some words of wisdom for other couples: "The day flies by and it is easy to get caught up in all the excitement. However, Mike and I made a promise to each other to really take our time over saying our vows and take it all in. It is the reason you are both there and the part that we want to remember the most throughout our married life."
