Molly and Ryan's beach wedding at Lusty Glaze

Molly and Ryan’s love story began in February 2018, when they met at a bar in Austria while snowboarding. After returning home, they kept in touch and went on their first date just weeks later.

Their relationship flourished despite a two-hour distance between them, with both travelling back and forth until 2021, when an accident brought them closer. “After Ryan’s accident, I moved in to live with him,” shares Molly. “He proposed on 1st October 2022 during a stunning sandstorm sunset in Rhosilli, Wales.”

The couple chose Lusty Glaze as the venue for their September wedding. “Cornwall is our home away from home,” explains Molly. A willow green and rose pink colour palette, inspired by local flowers and foliage, set the tone for their dreamy seaside celebration. One of Molly’s best friends, Hannah Brown, served as their wedding planner, while Ryan, their “DIY guru,” took charge of designing the signs and driftwood table decorations.

The groom and his groomsmen embraced a relaxed vibe, pairing chinos with blazers and open collars. Flanked by bridesmaids in rose pink and willow green, Molly donned a flowing white gown and carried a bouquet tied with pink ribbons which fluttered in the sea breeze.

An arch adorned with pampas grass, foliage and blooms framed the blue waters beyond as the couple exchanged vows on the sands. “It was amazing,” recalls Molly. “I walked down the aisle to John Legend’s All of Me and couldn’t stop smiling. My nephew from Canada was the ring-bearer and my mum walked me down the aisle – both special moments.” Following the ceremony, Paul Haywood’s saxophone serenaded guests during canapés and mojitos.

The celebrations continued with a barbecued feast featuring garlic and rosemary minute steak, barbecued pork ribs and garlic and chilli prawns with sides of paella, roasted vegetables and rosemary focaccia followed by an array of brownies, cookies and mini cakes baked by local suppliers.

After the speeches, everyone spilled onto the sand in the sunshine, where guests played beer pong and rounders, and some even took a dip in the sea. “I got taken out by one of the guests whilst running to first post during rounders and my wedding dress shoulder strap broke,” says Molly. “It had to be mended by another guest who had an emergency sewing kit on her!”

The couple’s choreographed first dance to Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do was an entertaining highlight. “We hadn’t practised much, but the cheers made it all worth it!” laughs Molly.

Reflecting on her favourite moment, Molly shares, “I was dragged into the sea by Ryan during our post-ceremony photos and remember feeling on top of the world.”

Her advice to other couples is simple: “Don’t let the planning take away from enjoying the journey. The day goes by in a blink of an eye, so enjoy every moment leading up to it. And on the day, spend as much time as possible with your husband. It truly is the best day ever.”
