Online dating led to love for Briony and Ed, culminating in an enchanting proposal at Wendover Woods in Buckinghamshire. They chose another romantic rural setting as the backdrop to their wedding celebrations: Briony's family church of St Lalluwys in Menheniot followed by the fairytale climes of Boconnoc House.
Opting for a yellow and grey colour scheme, bright shots of yellow added to the uplifting mood of the day, from the cake painted with dazzling blooms to the floral arrangements brimming with daisies and woven with Cornish tartan ribbons, echoing the groomsmen's ties.
Briony's dreamily elegant gown blended a sleek silhouette with exquisite lace, a cut-out back and a ribbon detail at the waist. "My mum made the dress from scratch without a pattern," she explains. Enhancing the aesthetic, Briony's bridesmaid wore a blue lace dress, while her flower girls donned pretty white dresses and floral crowns speckled with daisies.
The cheery colour scheme felt perfectly in keeping with the weather: torrential rain and lightning gave way to blue, sun-filled skies.
Briony arrived at St Lalluwys Church in a vintage car and, following the personal and heartfelt ceremony, she and Ed were whisked off for their next - and rather special - mode of transportation.
They boarded a helicopter to Boconnoc Estate courtesy of Briony's pilot dad, and delighted in seeing their guests open-mouthed at their grand and completely unexpected entrance. "It was superb!" comments Amber McCarthy from Liberty Pearl Photography, who was lucky enough to join them on board to document the ride. "I was so excited I almost forgot to take photos!"
Guests mingled in the sunshine on the lawn, taking in the gorgeous views across the estate, alongside Pimm's, cream teas and a few games of croquet. A sumptuous wedding breakfast then treated guests to a locally inspired feast of crab, roast beef - a must given Ed's family are beef farmers - and sandcastle lemon puddings. Mini homemade pasties kept revellers fuelled for the evening celebrations, alongside musical entertainment from live band, deciBelle, who kept the party in full swing into the early hours.
A day full of standout episodes and surprises left Briony and Ed - and their guests - spoiled for choice with wow factor moments; however, the newly-weds could easily pick out their top, high-flying highlight. "Our favourite moment was arriving at Boconnoc in the helicopter when no one knew we were arriving like that!" reflects Briony.
