Teachers Holly and Stuart first met when he started working at the same school as her, and it wasn't long before he launched a charm offensive on his colleague. "He wooed me by baking me a cake or other goodies every week until I agreed to go on a date with him," she laughs. It was on the day that the couple moved into their first house together that he took her by surprise by popping the question. "After a long day of house moving it was the last thing that I expected," she comments.
Planning began for their country wedding in a picturesque corner of Devon, which brimmed with pretty pops of purple, garden games and fun in the glorious July sunshine.
Holly wore a dreamy lace gown by Charlotte Balbier, which she teamed with a lace-trimmed veil, dainty jewellery and a graceful medley of cream, lilac and deep purple blooms.
She pulled up at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Exeter in a beautiful vintage Rolls Royce. After the ceremony, the newly-weds enjoyed a scenic drive in their elegant wheels to the Deer Park Country House Hotel, where guests wandered the picture-perfect grounds, indulging in canapes, Pimm's and garden games while basking in the warm sunshine; Andy Nash provided a stirring live acoustic guitar soundtrack.
Boasting views across the gardens, their marquee was a vision of cream and purple, adorned with bunting in various shades of purple, delicate butterfly decorations and organza sashes at the chairs.
Everyone tucked into a sumptuous medley of beef Wellington served with vegetables and a delectable trio of desserts before spilling back outside into the gardens to soak up some evening sun before the party well and truly kicked off.
Fuelled by a hog roast, a DJ set from Your Perfect Night ensured guests grooved the night away; "He kept people on the dance floor all night and there were many sweaty bodies by the end!" comments Holly. The revellers rounded off the night with a 1am sing-song around the piano.
"It's very hard to pick anything out of what was such an amazing day but walking down the aisle and seeing Stuart standing at the front of the church was very special for me," reflects Holly.
She offers some wise words for couples approaching their wedding day: "Don't have too many set photos, and do make sure you both take some time out during the day to help you enjoy the moment," she advises. "Enjoy the build-up and the day as much as possible. It's easy to say, but don't get too stressed - it will be fantastic."
