"Tim is a helicopter pilot and he flew me to a country pub for lunch," she explains. "When we had finished lunch and were about to fly back, he came round to my side of the helicopter and asked me to marry him. I did not hesitate to say yes, as I knew Tim was the one for me."
The pair envisioned a relaxed beach wedding - and Lusty Glaze ticked all the boxes. "It was a laidback wedding with no theme as such, just fun times at the beach!" says Andrea.
A cheery palette of sunny yellow, orange and cream carried through many of the details. The flowers - medleys of sunflowers, gerbera and gypsophila arranged by Tim's step-mum - enhanced the sweet summertime vibe, along with the tower of cupcakes and ice cream cones, topped with starfish. The tables were dressed with rustic heart planters on wood and adorned with colourful blooms in jars wrapped with hessian and lace.
Reflecting the lush colours of the coastal backdrop, Tim wore a tailor-made blue suit teamed with an orange tie. Andrea, meanwhile, donned a floaty Claire Pettibone gown embellished with delicate lace - a beautifully ethereal look for the marine setting. She finished the look with a stunning crown of foam flowers, which she made herself - she also lent her creative skills to decorating the bridesmaids' flip-flops. Complete with handmade floral crowns and pretty empire-line dresses, the bridesmaids echoed the beachy, bohemian vibe.
Andrea made an exhilarating arrival to the amazement of their gobsmacked guests. "I arrived on the beach by helicopter with my dad and brother, and Tim's best man flew the helicopter as he, too, is a pilot. We didn't tell the guests that we were arriving by helicopter so it was a surprise for everyone as we landed on the beach!"
After the 'I dos', everyone spilled onto the sands for bruschetta and tapenade washed down with bubbly, before settling at the tables for a suitably laidback feast of paella and chocolate brownies.
The evening celebrations unfolded in dreamy style: paddling in the shallows, grooving on the dance floor and starry-eyed moments watching the most awe-inspiring sunset.
Reflecting on their beautiful beachside wedding, Andrea's advice for other brides and grooms-to-be is simple: "Relax and enjoy it!"
