Wedding favour ideas made in Cornwall

Gifting your guests a little treat just got a whole lot tastier with these flavoursome favours made in Cornwall

As a gorgeous gift for your loved ones, a 'thank you' to each and every one of them for sharing your big day, or an insight into something you both love and want to share with them, favours are a lovely little part of your wedding day. And for those getting married in beautiful Cornwall, it's even better to be able to gift something edible and delicious, made right here in the county. We've rounded up our favourite favours to bring you something sweet, thoughtful and oh-so tasty to wow your guests with...

ON CLOUD NINE

Who doesn't love a gorgeous, gooey marshmallow, adding a delicious sense of sugar-sweet delight to a table setting? Light and lovely, Cloud Nine Marshmallows are revered all over the country; a favourite with everyone from fashion magazine editors to celebrities and brides.

Adapted from a traditional French recipe, the mouthwatering flavours range from double raspberry to salted caramel peanut, not to mention coconut and lime and - our favourite for a summer wedding - champagne and strawberries. Beautifully presented, Cloud Nine will even create bespoke marshmallows in any shape, size, colour or flavour you can imagine. "There are endless possibilities and combinations of fruit, petals, nuts, alcohol, chocolate and whatever else you can dream up," says Murphy at Cloud Nine, who will also print beautifully personal tags to ensure the favours are so wonderfully 'you'.

Made in Port Eliot, the personalised puffs of perfection are freshly prepared in small batches and made with natural ingredients, so your luxurious marshmallows will taste as good as they look.

LET THEM EAT CAKE
Could there be a sweeter treat than your very own hand-painted cake or cookie? We've always loved Emily Hankins' wedding cakes, and her offerings as favours are just as delightful. "I always think that edible favours are great as you know your guests will enjoy them," says Emily, who is an expert cake maker and designer based in the heart of Cornwall.

She offers hand-painted treats such as scrumptious macarons, cookies and cake pops, in hues to suit your theme or colour scheme. Her delicate designs will have your guests wowing at the intricate detail, and then just as delighted with the sumptuous flavour. What's more, as they can be personalised with names or little tags, they'll also double as super-cute (and tasty!) place settings, adding a creative and individual flourish to your table decor.

RAISE A GLASS
Miniature spirits are a sure-fire hit at weddings, but it's a tricky ask to find something everyone will enjoy - and it's even harder when you try to add 'made in Cornwall' to the mix! Luckily, Tinkture has quickly become renowned as a beautiful rose gin, delighting those who try it by turning from a golden amber to a gentle pink like magic before your eyes when tonic is added. Now the geniuses behind it have launched 'The Little Guy', a mini bottle measuring 50ml of fresh, organic ingredients and amazing flavours.

Made using David Austin roses, a touch of juniper and coriander and distilled in copper pot stills, the gin comes in miniature apothecary bottles, looking every inch the super-cool favour. Handmade in Penzance, the subtle gin with a pure perfume has all the opulence and style of the Roaring Twenties, but with an added dash of fun.

DON'T FUDGE IT
Makers of classic confectionery, St Ives-based confectioners, Copperpot Originals, have launched a quintessential Cornish product: clotted cream fudge. A delicious taste of Cornish nostalgia, it's a perfect wedding favour for those with a love of cream teas, or who want a lip-smackingly lovely nod to Cornwall on their big day.

"We wanted to create a product that we felt reflected the rich heritage of Cornwall," says commercial director, Mark Brian. "It was important to us that we used Rodda's clotted cream - they're known as the 'Keepers of the Cream', after all - to make our fudge."

Naturally gluten-free and suitable for vegetarians, the smooth taste of clotted cream combines with mouthwatering sweetness to create an indulgent, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Somehow sweet, crumbly and creamy all in one, it'll treat your guests to an authentic taste of Cornwall.
