Set amongst 250 acres of picturesque countryside in the Mid Devon hills, Hawke Barn presents an historic and versatile space for every type of wedding, while their ‘imperfectly eco’ ethos of inclusivity and sourcing locally ensures a beautiful of-the-earth vibe.
Merging elements of festival weddings with rustic chic and sustainability, the theme of wild, individual and free-spirited beauty is laced throughout this styled shoot. The colour-pop florals carry the aesthetic perfectly from the bouquets to the flower crowns, floral fascinator and potted arrangements. Bright paper pompoms adorn both the ceremony arch and reception space, where tablescapes continue the look with vibrant tapered candles, glassware and charger plates alongside vases with bright stems and hanging décor that draws the gaze upward to a canopy of colour.
Befitting the festival feel, a relaxed menu featuring the likes of slow-cooked barbecue pulled chicken with loaded french fries and mac and cheese allows a mix and match approach to the wedding feast, rounded off with cake pops, mini wedding cakes and gelato.
The dress code is equally as eclectic, blending a sense of the outdoors with bohemian style through a mix of gorgeous separates and a flowing A-line with long sheer sleeves. A change of attire reveals a pale mint gown with metallic thread detailing and ivory frock featuring intricate floral lace, botanical accents and canvas-like hand-stitched elements that echo Hawke Barn’s beautiful wooded surrounds.
