The romance of gypsy caravans cradled by weeping willows, barefoot bohemian weddings on silken sands, summery and autumnal scenes in Devon's rolling countryside, seaside venues perched on wave-lashed shores... a free-spirited mood carries through this issue. Taking you from the drama of Devon's coast to the tranquil charm of the country, these pages celebrate the beauty of this extraordinary county - and the incredible potential for an unforgettable, personality-packed wedding.
We spent a glorious day in the sunshine shooting 'Gypsy Spirit' in a secluded corner of South Devon with a brilliant team. A lovingly restored Romany gypsy caravan made a beautifully bohemian canvas for flowing gowns embellished with jewels, bejewelled headwear and oh-so fabulous flowers.
If you're seeking big day hair and make-up inspiration, 'Let it Shine' is brimming with gorgeous ideas. From screen siren glamour to demure romance, the team at Gershwins Hairdressing has devised a series of breathtaking looks to ensure a wow-worthy impact - and so 'you' look - come the big day.
When it comes to the look of your wedding day itself, we have gorgeous inspiration galore. 'Summer of Love' celebrates the beauty of a quintessentially British wedding in the heart of Devon's countryside; think tutu-clad flower girls, pretty florals and even a well-dressed dog! Meanwhile, 'The Apple of my Eye' celebrates the mellow mood of an autumn wedding.
'Set Adrift' is a siren song to the seaside spirit. Awash with free-spirited florals, feathers and wildly windswept details, this dreamy shoot showcases the enchantment of a whimsical wedding by the sea. And couples seeking their dream coastal venue should flick directly to 'Shore Thing', which is brimming with beautiful seaside spots.
As well as top tips for entertaining the little ones, accessories for grooms, and favours and drinks ideas with a Devon twist, we have a heart-melting selection of real weddings in store. Packed with creativity, fun - and a lot of love - it's a pleasure to see so many of you pouring your personalities into your big day. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
