DREAMY DAYS AHEAD
Our cover image sees a boho-beautiful bride lazing on the warm, sun-kissed rocks of Mortehoe Point in north Devon. All tumbling beachy waves, bronzed skin and whimsical lace skirts, the evening sun shimmers dreamily on the calm Atlantic behind her. It's easy to get lost in that image of golden light, which seems so distant as I sit to pen my editor's letter on another grey day in lockdown. But, while the storm of Covid-19 still rages on, we're keeping our eyes fixed firmly on the horizon here at Wed.
Buoyed by the number of magazine orders, subscribers and newly engaged couples getting in touch over these past weeks ' it's been so wonderful to hear all your joy-filled stories amidst such bleak times ' we're looking forward to a future filled with the sweetest celebrations of love. And we've poured our hearts and souls into filling these pages with as much happiness, beauty and love as possible.
Beyond the north coast dreaminess of our cover shoot, 'Golden Hour', you'll find a glorious celebration of autumn in 'Apple of my Eye'. Captured in the idyllic rural climes of Harefield Barn, showstopping Devon-crafted gowns and jewels meet flowers and styling abundant with colour and natural beauty. New intimate wedding venue Rock Farm makes an enchanting canvas for sprawling florals, dreamy dresses and reclaimed details in 'The Lost Garden', while 'Wild at Heart' captivates with its ethereal, free-spirited vibes together with fresh-from-the-moorland finds at new Dartmoor venue, Badgers Holt. Then it's over on the sea tractor to Burgh Island Hotel in 'On Burgh Island', where art deco wedding styling receives a fresh and stylish update for modern couples.
It's such a privilege to be the editor of Wed and undoubtedly one of my favourite parts is getting to feast my eyes on your wedding photos in the name of 'work' for our 'Got Wed' section ' and this issue's weddings positively blew me away.
I love being the editor of Wed and my favourite part is undoubtedly getting to feast my eyes on your beautiful wedding photos when planning our 'Got Wed' section ' and this issue's weddings positively blew me away. From Adam and Darius's tiny winter wedding at Hotel Endsleigh in the west of Devon to Shanice and Stephen's elegant romance at Deer Park Country House in the east, the love and joy is palpable in each image ' and really lifted my spirits as the challenges of the winter lockdown started to bite. They also lifted my gaze firmly back to those bright horizons and days ahead filled with wonderful weddings, love and togetherness.
Here's to the future!
