QUOTE: "Our favourite moment was waking up on the day to perfect sunshine," says Charlotte. "Some guests even managed to top up their tans!"
After meeting at Young Farmers' Club - "probably after a few too many drinks!" - romance blossomed for Charlotte and Richard. "Richard is an agricultural engineer and he proposed with a metal washer as a ring at the bottom of the stairs in our first home together," she recalls.
Planning a wedding scattered with bright colours and heart-shaped floral details, Charlotte and Richard were married under blue skies on the lawn of idyllic wedding venue, Pengenna Manor. With the groom arriving on a brand new, New Holland tractor and looking dapper in a pale grey suit, the bride wore a beautiful gown with a cut-out back and small train, all scattered with diamante. Charlotte's bridesmaids dazzled in hot pink and coral tones which complemented the vibrant bouquets and heart-shaped floral details in shades of summer, creating a colour scheme of magenta, pink, coral, peach and grey. The grounds of Pengenna Manor were alive with flowers, too, adding to the colourful, vibrant scene.
Charlotte and Richard celebrated their nuptials with Prosecco, gin and elderflower drinks followed by mini fish and chips and steak-on-skewer canapes. The wedding breakfast followed, where guests devoured roast beef followed by a trio of desserts in the form of raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake, chocolate mousse and chocolate brownie. Glorious weather even allowed their guests to enjoy Benny's Organic Ice Cream, before the evening arrivals were treated to a hog roast pig supplied by the bride's family along with a colourful selection of salads. In keeping with the hog roast, the wedding cake was as a family affair, supplied by Charlotte's Aunt, Rose, who produced five tiers of fruit cake, Victoria sponge, chocolate sponge and carrot cake.
With entertainment supplied by singer Josh Curnow and BK Discos, and magic tricks to entertain the crowds courtesy of magician Lewis Belcher, the party was soon in full swing.
Reflecting on the day, Charlotte and Richard loved knowing everything was perfect "there were no hiccups or problems," says Charlotte. And it seems Charlotte has her bridesmaid to thank for her seamless, perfect day. "One of my bridesmaids said to me 'I think we need to write a list.' This soon became a running joke in the lead-up to the wedding, but it was her lists that ensured everything was sorted and there was no excuse for anything to be forgotten!" laughs Charlotte.
