Seaside Delight

Kelly and Will instantly hit off when a friend introduced them on Kelly's 23rd birthday. Five years later, they were backpacking in Morocco when Will spontaneously proposed in the seaside town of Essaouira. "I was so shocked and didn't actually believe him," says Kelly. "He'd always said he didn't want to get married, so I started hitting him and telling him to stop joking! He had not planned to propose, and as a result, had no ring!"

Two years later to the day, Kelly found herself travelling with her father in a Rolls Royce Phantom ("which had been previously owned by Winston Churchill no less!") to The Sandy Cove Hotel in Berry Narbour.

Clutching a bouquet of white gerberas and freesias, Kelly's flowers perfectly complemented the colour scheme of jade and teal flanked by a polka dots theme that adorned the details of the day.

A Pimm's reception with mini Devonshire cream teas followed a ceremony punctuated with moving readings. The wedding breakfast of chicken and liver parfait, roast sirloin of beef and classic fruits of the forest pavlova was served on tables named after the music-loving couple's favourite songs, accompanied by a favourite lyric from each song.

A stroll across Combe Martin beach for photos stands out as one of the best moments of the day. "We honestly felt like celebrities, as so many people stopped to shout congratulations," Kelly recalls.

They returned to the reception to enjoy not one - but two - first dances to 'First Day of My Life' by Bright Eyes and 'All I Want Is You' by Barry Louis Polisar. Live band Dave Can't Dance then performed a set of funk and disco tunes, which went down a storm with revellers.

Kelly looks back to reveal a poignant memory of the day: "Will wore highland dress in memory of his late Granddad to whom he had promised before he died that he would propose to me."

She has plenty of advice for other couples. "Be prepared for the two week countdown; no matter how organised you are, everybody wants you in the last two weeks, and it can be quite stressful." She adds, "Give yourself a few days after the wedding before going on honeymoon to get things sorted - we were shattered and found it hard to prepare for a holiday on the other side of the world whilst also trying to finalise wedding details."
