Dani and Liam first became friends as teenagers, but it wasn't until some years later, when they were reunited during the Boardmasters Festival in Newquay, that love finally blossomed. "In a cheesy romantic way, we saw each other across a field," recalls Dani. "I remember thinking how much Liam had grown up - and how hot he was! The rest, as they say, is history!"
Dani had a suspicion that Liam would propose while they were holidaying in Florida. "The cheeky monkey kept me on my toes until the last night!" she reflects. "After a lovely meal, we went back to our room to sit on the balcony with some cocktails when he got down onto one knee and asked me to be his wife."
Falling for the seaside setting of Tunnels Beaches, the pair planned a wedding packed with personality. "We both wanted all the things we loved, with a bright summery feeling," explains Dani. "As we are both geeks at heart, this included a life-size storm trooper cut-out, cow print shoes, panda ties and cufflinks, as well as other small touches to include our love of travel such as a globe for guests to sign." Dani teamed her playful cow print shoes and nails with a '50s-style lace dress, while a colourful carnival of blooms and floral bridesmaids' frocks carried the vibrant mood.
After a sunny outdoor ceremony to the sound of the sea, a barbecue treated guests to the scrumptious likes of chilli-lime chicken kebabs, pork and apple sausages and grilled sea bass with grilled vegetable and salmon garden pasta salads.
The evening brimmed with further delights, including an ice cream tricycle, marshmallows toasted over a firepit, pasties and lively entertainment courtesy of a personalised Spotify playlist - all played out to a stunning sunset.
"I couldn't pick one moment!" confesses Dani when asked to reflect upon her favourite part of the day. "It really was the best day of our lives. Having Liam's granddad there was very special for us, as sadly he recently passed away, but he got to see his grandson get married and we have all of these amazing photos and memories with him too."
As for advice for other couples, Dani is clear on her thoughts: "Don't do what you think you should do! Everyone always worries about pleasing everyone else and making sure they have ticked everything off the list. As long as you have booked the registrar so that you can actually get married then everything else will fall into place. Remember that it is all about the two of you!"
