Wedding Favours Cornwall
Seeking cost-effective favours that guests will actually use? Here are some pretty, practical and palate-pleasing ideas
Favours are a sweet way of thanking your guests for attending your wedding. If you've got a hefty guest list, however, the cost can soon escalate to budget-busting proportions. With that in mind, we've highlighted some fab favour ideas for under a fiver which are (almost) guaranteed not to be left amongst the empty glasses and snack wrappers at the end of the night.
FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD
Food is pretty much universally accepted to be a good thing - so gifting your guests with something sweet or savoury is a safe bet. Here are some nibbles that won't break the bank.
Doughnuts - They're having a bit of moment, are totally delicious and work a treat on hangovers. Forward planning - your guests will appreciate it.
Jam - If you've got a garden brimming with produce, why not start stockpiling and make up some jam?
Granola - The pre-made variety can add up, but you can make far superior stuff at home.
Local produce - Make a nod to your surroundings with something tasty and local such as a jar of honey or artisan fudge.
Chocolate - You can't really go wrong with chocolate - stick to a few posh truffles to keep costs down and impressions up.
S'mores kit - If you'll be having fire pits or a cosy campfire, get guests prepared with a sweet little starter pack.

ON THE DAY USE
Let's be honest: there are a lot of naff favours about. Will anyone really use a 5cm x 5cm gold effect frame of the happy couple? Probably not. Dispel any concerns about favours not being used by offering up bounty designed for the day.
Flip-flops - Heels are pretty but no fun to dance in. Your stiletto-wearing pals will thank you.
Blankets - Planning an outdoorsy wedding into the wee hours? Blankets will keep everyone snug so the party can keep going. Top tip: charity shops are a goldmine for bargain blankets.
Party poppers - Because who doesn't like party poppers?
Disposable cameras - With their retro feel, this is a seriously fun favour.
Lip balm - If you're getting hitched somewhere gorgeous but windswept, this will save many lips from a chapped fate.
Sunglasses - Go for novelty ones to add a dash of fun to proceedings.
Sunscreen - Hey, we can hope!
Wedding games cards - Get guests mingling with some games. It will break the ice and get the party started.
Colouring in kit - Perfect for entertaining all aspiring artists.
Shot glass and mini liquor - You could just about do this for a fiver, especially if you bulk buy.

LET'S GET PRACTICAL
If you can't eat it or use it on the day, the next best thing is a favour that has an actual practical use!
Seeds - Herbs, vegetables, your favourite flowers - there are so many green-fingered options.
Coffee beans - If you've got caffeine fans in attendance, this is sure to go down a treat.
Tea - This is Britain after all. Go local for an extra special touch.
Bottle opener or stopper - Bonus: this could be used on the day, too.
Charity donation - Donate 5 per person to charity instead of buying a gift and leave a little note for each guest.
Soap - Go for one that features flowers from the day (and pray you don't offend your second cousin with the BO issue).
Candles - As above, you could go for scents used on the day.
A plant - Succulents and herbs make a great practical token. Not so great if your guests have a long journey home.
Tote bag - Get some custom printed tote bags made up - they're perpetually useful.
Photograph coasters - Don't just plaster your mug all over them; pick out pictures that mean something to the guest!
Hangover kit - This one will win you serious brownie points the morning after.
