Escape to Plymouth for an elopement wedding full of romance and style

For couples dreaming of a simple day for two, Plymouth provides a host of unforgettable options. This stunning shoot took place at just a few of the city's locations, showing the scope for gorgeous images capturing loved-up clinches, celebratory dances and newly-wed poses.

The Custom House was the venue for the majority of the shoot, where the couple enjoyed exploring a range of rooms and backdrops at this most architecturally pleasing place. From pre-ceremony drinks in the boudoir to uttering their vows by the spectacular fireplace beneath a showstopping chandelier in the Long Room, the series of statement features add a dose of high drama and layers of interest to what was otherwise a beautifully simple and pared-back shoot.

Making full use of the grade II-listed building's myriad spaces, they move from stairways and hallwalls flooded with exquisite natural light to the ambient setting of the Cellar Bar, before relocating outside for more shots in front of the Barbican's beautiful buildings.

One of the most jaw-dropping features of the editorial is the Vera Wang Bride wedding gown, a stunning vintage-inspired number in nude-beige tulle complete with all-over beading, plunging neckline and fabulous floor-length tail accent. Built for dancing courtesy of a plisse insert on the skirt, the bride epitomises modern glamour with a dreamy high fashion edge. Flanked by a groom in on-trend black tie, the effect of each ensemble is unadulterated elegance, which is emphasised by each uber chic setting - from open doorways adorned by hanging floral installations to the crumbling exterior of the old mill building on Millbay Road (where the bride has swapped her sweeping gown for a fun Little White Dress).

The following gallery of gorgeous images is clear proof than an elopement wedding need be no less inspired or romantic than a grand affair, ensuring an abundance of opportunity to capture the moment with artistic, emotive and timeless flair.
