Straddling the Cornwall-Devon border, where the banks of the River Tamar greet the River Lyd amongst 500 lush acres, Wooladon Estate provides the picture-postcard backdrop for this ethereal editorial, which showcases the country venue and its new wedding barn to inspired effect. The former cow shed has been transformed into an enchanting celebration setting, with high ceilings, rustic beams and stunning chandeliers casting a soft glow upon the polished floor and warm wooden panelling.
In keeping with the close-to-nature charm of the venue, a bohemian, free-spirited mood carries throughout the shoot. Dried florals in sand, cream and pale pink tones with rich accents of green and russet complement the barn’s exposed wooden structure and rural canvas beyond. Simple macramé chair sashes are paired with pew end posies of gypsophila, pampas grass and sprigs of foliage, while the accessories continue the pared-back, petal-pretty aesthetic with bouquets, buttonholes, flower crowns, floral fan and fedora all adorned with textured blooms.
Then there’s the dress code. A fitted, lingerie-style bodice with billowing long sleeves and skirt sets the boho vibe; a low-necked A-line with botanical embroidery detailing another exquisite example of modern-whimsical bridal wear. A shot of glamour is achieved with the transformational evening wear, detachable sleeves revealing the seductive cut of the corset top and dance-worthy tulle skirt.
