Wedding blogger Sarah Christopher from Juno & Joy celebrates the charms of the au naturel celebration...
I adore colour, but there's something so elegant and beautifully bridal about a simple colour scheme inspired by nature. Whether it's woodland, rustic or simply a pared-back palette of natural shades and crisp whites, a stylishly simple aesthetic will always turn heads. Here are some top tips for channelling au naturel wedding style.

SIMPLY DOES IT
A pared-back palette can add an almost ethereal feel to a wedding. A look that can be as classic as it is contemporary, opting for a simple and natural scheme for your wedding attire makes for oh-so elegant aisle style. Brides can opt for a natural approach with 'barely there' make-up and a loose and unstructured hairstyle adorned with a few well-placed blooms, while grooms can add interest and texture with a neutral coloured suit made from natural fabrics such as wool for winter and linen for the warmer months.

ON THE MONEY
Not only is a pared-back palette timeless and beautiful, it can be really budget-friendly, too. You can save a fortune by opting for a predominantly 'green' wedding for your styling elements, such as flowers and decor.
Foliage and herbs cost a fraction of the price of flowers - they can even be home-grown if you're the green-fingered type - and look incredible placed on a tablescape or within a bouquet; they also offer heady scents that will enhance the ambience of your day. Add statement style with a handful of blousy flowers, such as roses, in shades of white and cream, or opt for peonies during the spring and summer.

IN SEASON
Seasonality is perhaps one of my favourite design elements to consider when wedding planning. A seasonal approach adds so much to the atmosphere of a wedding and offers a timeline for your lasting memories - in terms of photos and keepsakes - for years to come.
Imagine a winter wedding full of foliage such as evergreen, pine and holly, or a summer soiree abundant with cow parsley - both make for effective and impactful statements. Add texture and interest with other elements - it might be wood, or fruit and vegetables such as lemons and artichokes.

OUT OF TIME
Ensuring their wedding doesn't date is high on the priority list for the modern couple. Faddy style simply doesn't cut it with today's brides and grooms - many couples feel that a wedding design element should have earnt its place by genuinely reflecting their personal taste, rather than being a spoon-fed trend.
A natural inspired scheme fits the bill perfectly in that sense: to be inspired by your surroundings and a simple palette, while taking your lead from seasonality - there's nothing more charming or elegant, don't you think?
