Forest greens, flickering candlelight and snow-white confections bring a Scandinavian-inspired winter wedding to life

Inspired by the charm and enchantment of a Nordic winter, this styled shoot captures the snug sense of romance a tipi wedding offers in the cooler months, enhanced with roaring fires, fur pelts and fondue tables.

"I teamed natural elements alongside some minimal clean textures to add a modern twist to this traditional theme," says Bridget from Blue Fizz Events who styled the shoot. "The beautiful entrance teems with lush dark green foliage and delicate blooms. It is always a good idea to make an impact on entrance as it is something your guests will remember and sets the scene for the rest of the event." The bridal bouquet bears the same foliage and flowers of the entrance display, while the tables are dressed simply with forest greens.

Echoing the wintery mood, the ice-white cakes sit on a traditional sledge, the black painted boards making for a simple yet striking backdrop to show off the textures and details of the snow-inspired confections.

Embracing the minimal elements of the shoot, the opaque backgrounds of the stationery bring a barely-there feel along with a soft grey text juxtaposed against dark green foliage. "The midwinter vibe is carried through the shoot with added styling elements including reindeer pelts, blackened wooden boards for signage, and flickering candlelit lanterns," says Bridget.

For the bridal look, the delicate detailing and full skirt of the gown are married with a tousled bob and frosted yet dewy make-up, a full red lip adding to the wintery glamour, complementing the floral accents and the groom's velvet jacket.

As a snow-white horse approaches, the wintery moorland sprawling beyond, the Ice Maiden bride retreats inside the tipi, warmed from within, to continue the celebrations.
