Wedding styling: sustainable luxury at Treseren

Treseren sets the scene for a luxe intimate wedding with sustainability at its heart

Sustainability and style are the keynotes of this elegant styled shoot at Treseren. Tucked away in the Cornish countryside within touching distance of the north coast, the venue specialises in small and stylish weddings in a Georgian country house setting. Proud members of the Sustainable Wedding Alliance, the team's passion for creating a cherished experience for each of their couples is matched by their dedication to sustainability.

"We know that intimate weddings are by their very nature more sustainable and we have always been determined to build on this headstart, carefully balancing people, planet and profit to create a sustainable and vibrant business," explains marketing and events manager Izzy Blacher, who styled the shoot. "We are inspired by the brilliant wedding suppliers we work with who share our values and have become an extended part of the Treseren family. Their approach and ethos aligns to the principles we hold to create small and beautiful weddings that deliver quality, creativity and style, as well as prioritising a dedication to sustainability.”

Inspired by an ethos of sustainable luxury, Izzy brought together a team of talented suppliers who are all passionate about their responsibility to create magical weddings that tread as lightly as possible on the environment. From locally grown British flowers from to handcrafted eco silver jewellery, this styled shoot provides timelessly elegant wedding inspiration for couples seeking an intimate celebration minus the significant carbon footprint.

A pared-back aesthetic and palette of crisp whites perfectly complements the light-filled interiors of the country house. "When it comes to styling the venue, flowers are often the starting point and the sustainable choice really is easy – work with a florist who using local, seasonal flowers," says Izzy. "Emily Talling at Three Acre grows a variety of beautiful British flowers just five minutes from Treseren, and her wild and romantic style creates a dreamy backdrop for a stylish celebration."

As well as the eco silver jewellery, the bridal fashions combine fashion-forward style with a mindful approach to the planet. "E&W Couture and Medusa London are both small, independent British bridal brands who are combining design and sustainability to sine a spotlight in the pathway to a new breed of bridalwear," says Izzy. The bride wears a sweeping strapless gown for the daytime and changes into a fun cocktail dress as day turns to night and Loveday’s Cocktail Bar becomes the backdrop for the evening festivities.

As this stunning editorial illustrates with a little consideration and the help of some amazing pioneering sustainable designers, sustainable luxury is oh-so achievable - and here to stay.
