Wedding at Tunnels Beaches, Devon

Travel-loving pair, Jenna, who's from Blackpool, and Brett, who's from Melbourne, Australia, first met on Valentine's Day in London, after which the pair didn't see each other for another six weeks. "I was on tour acting and he had to go back to Australia for a wedding," explains Jenna. "We had a series of comedy dates, but after four months he had to return to Oz." Six months later, Jenna joined Brett where they lived in Melbourne for four years before she "dragged him back, kicking and screaming!".

Tunnels Beaches ticked the box for their "Aussie barbecue beach wedding in the UK", and even though the weather didn't quite deliver, Jenna and Brett were able to enjoy an al fresco ceremony at the seaside venue.

A theme of "travelling and us" perfectly reflected the couple's relationship, with the tube map table plan and personalised London

postbox for gifts mirroring where the couple met, and tables named after countries they'd travelled to together. Adopting a handmade

ethos, Brett's carpentry skills were put to good use in the creation of the cake stand, guest book signboard and order of events. The cakes were a spectacular chocolate fest made by Jenna's bridesmaid and mum, and fused Australian and British confectionery including Jaffas, Caramello Koalas, Violet Crumbles, Cherry Ripes, KitKats, Flakes and Curly Wurlys.

But the main highlight for both was the entertainment, which featured in every section of the day and was kick-started with Jenna's

showstopping entrance. "It was so wonderful to walk down the aisle with my dad, as my brother Glenn rocked out on the guitar with my nephews and nieces proudly walking ahead with their little placards saying 'Uncle Brett...Here Comes Your Bride'," she recalls. "Fabulous memories to cherish."

The moment was topped off when Jenna and her bridesmaid - who are both performers - took to the stage during the reception for a surprise rendition of a Tina Turner number with local band, Ride the Fire. "It was just wonderful, belting out 'Proud Mary' like we were actually Tina Turner performing at Wembley! It was an absolute highlight of the day for me," remembers Jenna. "The whole set was everything we love about music and atmosphere. I don't think anyone sat down all night."

Limbo, hula hooping, drinking out of a Viking horn, and a pub quiz kept guests of all ages entertained throughout the celebrations, with a firepit and marshmallow toasting providing the atmospheric close to a joy and love-filled day.

"Have fun!" implores Jenna to other couples. "Get the big things sorted that are important to you. The rest is 'fluff' essentially - wonderful fluff, but don't let the budget get away from you. It's easy to get carried away."
